About Tanga

With roots in Eastern North Carolina, her imagination led her to dream of travel, design, and creativity, from an early age. As fate would have it, she made her home in New Orleans. With a Bachelor of Science Degree from Barton College in NC and an Associate Degree in Fashion Design from the American College in London, UK, she has a unique ability to design across a broad spectrum of styles.

Parlaying a career in marketing, sales, and fashion into the world of interiors, she found her niche in New Orleans where she believes this diverse array of experience simply broadened her scope of design possibilities. “For me, design is something I can’t switch off; it is always present – especially when I travel. My job is to convey those ideas to the client and hope they are as excited as I am about seeing them come to life!” says Winstead. With more than 15 years of design experience and 12 years managing a showroom in New Orleans, she enjoys being a traditional curator as well as a modern tastemaker, forming her own eclectic, transitional style. Indoors or out, residential or commercial, classic and elegant with an unexpected touch, Winstead loves a challenge and an opportunity to provide a solution for all your design needs.

The very first time Tanga came to our house, she immediately had a vision and created exactly what I wanted, within just three months, the interior was complete.

“What I love most about working with Tanga is her enthusiasm and endless ideas. With a broad base of knowledge on both the vendors and the products (curtain makers/hangers, electrician and specialty furniture design/makers) she is a bounty of sources. She works WITH you, implementing your lifestyle into your decor. She has unlimited energy and is quick to task in selection, ordering, and the tedious follow through required to expediently get a job done. I have muddled through with many designers with whom the completion drags on and on. I will continue to work with Tanga and utilize her seasoned savvy!”
