Palmer Raised Center Hall
This historic Palmer Street home got the refresh it deserved. What started as a kitchen renovation turned into a whole home transformation. The owners of this four-bedroom, three-bath wanted to preserve their antique pieces while incorporating ongoing curated items. Spaces like the library and the guest bedroom received a paint job, while the hallway underwent a complete update with Iksel wallpaper, and the floors were refinished to their natural state throughout the house. By combining the existing vintage pieces with new, elegant touches, we created a sophisticated yet livable and elevated space.

Before
From the Client
We began using her in 2006 for design consultation following Hurricane Katrina. Thanks to her wise design sense and hard work, our house has evolved over the years from a hodge-podge of decor to a place we cherish that’s cozy and unique
When we decided to undergo a complete renovation, Tanga took us through the entire process. Using her instinctive spatial sense, she redesigned the kitchen specs that the consultant proposed, considerably improving the layout. She redesigned the bathrooms and was hands-on, sourcing and managing all the on-site contractors, and handled all the challenges we faced, especially with an old house. Knowing I was sentimental and didn't want to discard the antique pieces, she skillfully incorporated them into the new design.
She understands the client’s individual needs and can incorporate them into the design choices. My husband and I were impressed that Tanga truly is a "jack of all trades" and knows how to keep costs in line to keep the job moving. We love the final product and are happy we entrusted our home renovation to Tanga.
